I like beer. Stouts. Ambers. Pales. IPAs. I like them all. It’s not that I don’t like wine. I just kind of wish wine was served in a pint glass. And, frankly, that movie “Sideways” disturbed me.
I enjoy lots of other things. Bacon. Sports. My two boys. Travel. “The Amazing Race”. And I simply love giving life to quirky, interesting characters. Whether it’s a huge piece with 1500 extras or a simple exchange between just 2 people, I always feel that I can find something worth watching in the characters themselves.
I grew up as a carny. That’s right. A carny. Traveled the State Fair circuit working as a shill on my grandfather’s crazy ball games. As a kid, I could fall dead asleep on the Musik Express ride. Dated the headless woman as a teenager. Seriously. You’d be surprised how much commercial production is like the State Fair.
I was a production designer out of college for a few years. Designed sets for my heroes and icons like Ridley Scott and David Fincher. Learnt about advertising along the way.
Been directing now for 14 years. Some TV. Some music videos. Mostly advertising. Lots of spots. Lots of clients. All over the world. It’s been a hell of a good ride. And I love every second of it.
